CENTER FOR ELABORATION COMPETENCY AND INNOVATION IN CLINICAL SIMULATION – UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE PHAM NGOC THACH (CECICS – UPNT) HAS OFFICIALLY RECEIVED PROVISIONAL ACCREDITATION OF SOCIETY OF SIMULATION IN HEALTHCARE (SSH)
After two years of preparation of facilities, equipments, policies and procedures,
curriculum renovation and personnel strengthen … under the guidance of Professor Ho
Hoi from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, El Paso as well as the
interest and supports of Board of Rectors and other department of University of medicine
Pham Ngoc Thach (UPNT), Center for Elaboration Competency and Innovation in
Cliniacal Simulation (CECICS) had a live interview with the board of expertise of
Society of Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) at 19:00, October 18 th 2018. During a 60-
minute interview, all members of CECICS had successfully completed all the questions
of interviewers of Society of Simulation in Healthcare about the activity processes and
teaching standards at CECICS.
After 1-month waiting, CECICS has received the Provisional Accreditation of
Society of Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). Rector of UPNT and Board of directors of
CECICS has officially taken an invitation to attend the Provisional Accreditation
Awarding Ceremony in San Antonio City, Texas, USA in January 26 th 2019. Rector;
director and vice director of CECICS will participate in this ceremony.
In parallel with getting the Provisional Accreditation of SSH, University of medicine Pham Ngoc Thach will select 3 core lecturers to attend the 2-week training course at Center for Advanced and Assessment in Clinical Simulation (ATACS) of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, El Paso to prepare for the official accreditation
in the next 2 years. The main purpose of the short training course is to update the new
knowledge to implement teaching and learning activities at CECICS according to international standards. So, this will contribute to innovate traditional teaching and
learning to modern modality and the most important things will be the improvement of
competency of medical resources and the increase in patient safety.
